PARENT PARTICIPATION

We need parent volunteers in order to ensure the club runs effectively.

The number of teams we have depends on the number of coaches that volunteer. Every team needs a Coach, an Assistant Coach, a Team Manager, two Timekeepers and volunteers for various functions. In addition to these positions we need one Division Manager for every division. (Without the Division Manager the division cannot operate)

Volunteer Jobs

A minimum of four hours of volunteer time is required for each child registered in the program. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a $75 charge. If you would prefer to pay the $75, please let your team manager know at the start of the season.

DIVISION COORDINATOR (5)

We need one coordinator for each division. This individual is responsible for running their division. This includes: helping with player evaluation week, maintaining lines of communication between the executive and your division coaches, assisting in the placement of players on to teams (draft day) so that the teams are balanced, presenting trophies to teams and players at our end of season tournament and final games of the season.

LEAD VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR (5) Sign Up

This individual is in charge of coordinating the volunteers for events that occur during the roller hockey season. (eg: tournament staffing, equipment assistance, follow up with team managers to ensure parent volunteer commitments are met). Our registrar will provide you with a list of volunteers.

STATISTICIAN Sign Up

Collects scoresheets on a weekly basis from the referee room drop box in SDRC, compiles and tabulates results to formulate standings by division for the regular season.

EQUIPMENT MANAGER (1) Sign Up

We need an individual to oversee our equipment room. Duties include: arranging new purchases for the upcoming season, allocating goalie equipment and team jersey’s at the start of the season, coordinating equipment return during the last week of the season. This position is busier at the beginning and the end of the season.

 T-SHIRT COORDINATOR Sign Up

This individual is in charge of tabulating, ordering and distributing delta revolution t-shirts at the end of the roller hockey season. Lists of players and sizes needed supplied by the registrar.

REFEREE IN CHIEF

Oversees the referees. Must be 19 years of age and know and understand the rules of inline hockey. Must attend the BCIHA Head Referee workshop (one afternoon in Langley in March). Runs the referee clinic for Delta Revolution in early April. Nominal salary.

 REFEREE SCHEDULER (1 or 2)  Sign Up

 Coordinates the referee schedules for the regular season and our mid-season tournament. The volunteer coordinator will provide you with people to assist in calling the referees to verify their schedules. This position may be split into two divisions with one scheduler taking on the two larger divisions (Bantam and Peewee) and one scheduler taking on the remaining divisions (Mite and Tyke)

ASSISTANT REF SCHEDULER (1 OR 2) Sign Up

Assists the Ref Scheduler by calling referees to verify their schedule and attendance at the games.

This person will be in charge of setting up and maintaining a data base of player info, distributing lists of players to Coaches etc. (must have a computer with email, Excel, and/or Microsoft Word.)

Asssist the Registrar with data input in preparation to take over the position of Registrar. (See computer requirements above)

COACH Sign Up

One coach is needed for every team. The coach is responsible for: evaluating all players in your age group, drafting his/her team, picking up/distributing/collecting the team gear during the season, running the team with the help of the assistant coaches. The coach is also responsible for paying the referee’s when his/her team is the home team.

 Helps the coach with running the team and filling team lists on the score sheet prior to every game.

APPAREL CO-ORDINATOR Sign Up

 

Responsibility includes setting up apparel on Saturday morning and taking down at the end of the day. Volunteers will be assigned sales duty throughout the day.

Assists the coaching staff by putting together team lists and contact info. Responsibility also includes keeping track of volunteer hours and liasing with Volunteer co-ordinator to recruit volunteers when needed. Also assists with jersey handout and collection at the end of the year.
